Seedance 2.0

The Seedance model with 1080p: 4 to 15 seconds from a prompt or a still, with audio, at 15 credits a second for 480p, 32 for 720p and 79 for 1080p.

Seedance 2.0, text to video. 480p, 5 seconds, 75 credits, about three minutes. Prompt: “A paper boat drifting across a puddle after rain, low camera, soft morning light, gentle ripples.”

Seedance 2.0

Seedance 2.0 is ByteDance’s video generation model for clips of 4 to 15 seconds at up to 1080p, from a written prompt or from a first and last frame, with an audio track generated alongside the picture. Use it for the take you will keep: it is the only Seedance here with 1080p, and the cheaper of the two at every shared size.

It runs in the editor on the left at 15 credits a second for 480p, 32 for 720p and 79 for 1080p, so a 5-second 480p clip is 75 credits and a 15-second 1080p one is 1,185. The Create button shows the exact figure before you spend anything.

Where Seedance 2.0 fits

Between the cheap draft models and the long-take flagship. Grok Video 1.5 is the place to find a prompt at 25 credits a clip; Seedance 2.5 is the place for 30-second takes with sound. Seedance 2.0 is where a finished prompt goes when the result has to be sharp: 1080p at 79 credits a second is the highest resolution any Seedance offers here.

Reference material is supported as well as frames: up to nine images, three videos and three audio clips per job, referred to in the prompt in the order you send them. Audio on 2.0 has to come with an image or a video; only 2.5 accepts sound on its own.

What it costs

Per second of output. The vendor bills by generated tokens and publishes these as per-second equivalents; on our test the real charge came out within a few percent of the table.

Our test

The clip in the hero is a text-to-video job we ran on this page’s route: no image, one sentence about a paper boat, 480p, 5 seconds, 16:9. It cost 75 credits, took about three minutes end to end, and came back as an 864×496 MP4 of 5.1 seconds with audio. The vendor’s own charge for it was $0.44 against the $0.75 we billed.

The same sentence went through Grok Video 1.5 and MiniMax H3, so the three text models can be compared on one prompt.

Seedance 2.0 or Seedance 2.5?

2.0 when the clip is 15 seconds or shorter and you want it sharp or cheap; 2.5 when it needs to run longer or the model should choose the length. At 720p the gap is 32 against 43 credits a second, so a 10-second clip is 320 on 2.0 and 430 on 2.5 for the same size.

How to run Seedance 2.0 here

  1. 1. Start from a still, or from the prompt alone Add a picture to animate it (an ending frame is optional), or leave it out.
  2. 2. Write the prompt as one sentence Name the subject, the action, the camera move, the setting and the light.
  3. 3. Draft at 480p, finish at 1080p 75 credits shows whether the motion is right; 395 buys the sharp version of the same take.
  4. 4. Create Two to four minutes; the clip waits in History if you leave.

When not to use this

  • Takes over 15 seconds. That is the ceiling; Seedance 2.5 and Wan 3.0 go to 30.
  • Letting the model pick the length. Auto duration is a 2.5 feature; 2.0 needs a number from 4 to 15.
  • Sound from audio alone. A reference audio clip must come with an image or video on 2.0.
  • Finding a prompt. Three minutes and 75 credits a draft adds up; use Grok Video 1.5 for the drafts.
  • Anyone’s likeness without their agreement, in a frame, a reference image or a prompt.

Questions people ask

How much does Seedance 2.0 cost?

15 credits a second at 480p, 32 at 720p and 79 at 1080p, with 1 credit equal to one US cent. A 5-second 480p clip is 75 credits, a 15-second 1080p clip is 1,185. Failed jobs are refunded.

Does Seedance 2.0 do 1080p?

Yes, at 79 credits a second. It is the only Seedance model here that does; 2.5 stops at 720p.

How long can the clip be?

4 to 15 seconds. For anything longer use Seedance 2.5 or Wan 3.0, both of which reach 30 seconds in one take.

Can I animate a photo with Seedance 2.0?

Yes. Upload a first frame, optionally a last frame, and describe the motion; the clip keeps the image’s aspect ratio.

Which Seedance 2.0 is this?

The official standard channel, which is priced per second and accepts images. The separate “cinematic” cut on the same platform is text-only at a flat price per clip and is not offered here.
